Priority One
The Cost of Living
Colorado has spent years near the top of the national inflation tables. That is not weather. It is the compound result of taxes, fees, and regulations that each looked small when they passed.
Craig's view is that the state does not have a revenue problem, it has a spending problem, and that the fastest way to bring costs down is to stop adding to them.
Craig is committed to ensuring that state policies allow Northglenn and Thornton to thrive in the ways they see fit, instead of forcing them into one-size-fits-all regulations.
What he will do
- Vote no on new fees that dodge a vote of the people.
- Roll back construction regulation that adds cost to a house without adding safety to it.
- Support the energy and food producers who set the price of everything else.
Priority Two
Public Safety
Craig hears about crime at almost every door he knocks. People who used to walk to the store after dark do not anymore. Small business owners talk about theft the way they used to talk about the weather.
He believes the legislature has spent several sessions making it easier to commit a crime and harder to answer for it, and that the fentanyl crisis has been treated as a public relations problem rather than a public safety one.
Craig is deeply concerned about the dangerous effects of crime and homelessness that are migrating up I-25 from the poorly-run City and County of Denver.
What he will do
- Vote against further reductions to sentences for repeat and violent offenders.
- Support the fentanyl enforcement tools law enforcement says they actually need.
- Let local law enforcement cooperate with federal authorities on violent offenders.
Priority Three
Parents and Schools
Craig's position is straightforward. A parent is entitled to know everything about their child's education, and to decide how and where that education happens.
Adams 12 is a good district with good teachers in it, and Craig grew up in its schools. The argument is not with the schools. It is with a legislature that keeps deciding parents are a problem to be managed.
Craig aligns himself with the pro-family and pro-child ballot initiatives from Protect Kids Colorado on your 2026 ballot, and he wants to ensure that our public schools teach kids how to be successful adults.
What he will do
- Support full parental access to curriculum and classroom materials.
- Vote for school choice that follows the student.
- Oppose any policy that puts a school between a parent and their child.
Priority Four
Protecting Taxpayers
The Taxpayer's Bill of Rights says the government has to ask before it takes more. Craig will defend it, and he will vote against the workarounds that have been used to get past it.
Over 31 years in air traffic control teaches a person what happens when nobody is watching the whole picture. The state budget needs somebody watching it the same way.
For Craig, a healthy economy is one in which individuals, families and businesses are allowed to keep more of their own money.
What he will do
- Defend TABOR and vote against fee schemes built to avoid it.
- Publish how he votes on every spending bill and why.
- Redirect existing revenue before asking for new revenue.
